From a silver medal to a diamond ring, a Chinese diver is surprised with a marriage proposal

Chinese diver He Zi might have missed out the gold, but she ended her Rio Olympics with the diamond.

The diving pool has grabbed headlines for the wrong reasons after the water turned green and was closed with a foul stench. Now it'll be remembered for having love in the air.

After earning silver in the women's 3m springboard, the diver accepted a marriage proposal from her partner and fellow Olympic diver Qin Kai on the medal podium.

The crowd roared with excitement as Qin went down on one knee and took out a ring.

Qin, who won bronze in the men's synchronized 3m springboard, punched the air in delight as Zi said nodded her head.

The Olympics might want to think about adding a sixth ring to their logo following an earlier proposal in the women's sevens last week.
