The Breeze is proud to get in behind the Hutt Winter Festival 2018
Hutt City Council's Hutt Winter Festival is back for a second year, warming up the winter months with an explosion of arts and cultural events suited for all ages, accessibility needs and interests.
Locals and vistors to the region will be treated to free workshops at community hubs throughout the Hutt Valley in July and August - including lantern and mask a making, a community labyrinth and opportunities to light up your wheels for a fantastic parade at the final festival party on Saturday 18 August.
Highlights of the festival include Hutt's Got Talent in association with GoodTime Music Academy, a Pimp My Jacket fashion competition, workshops and a night-time Illumination Bike Parade with Lucid DreamBike.
The events all culminate in Hutt Winter Festival's Final Fantastic Festivities at Dowse Square on 18 August from 5 - 10pm.
Full of live music, Lighting Our Ancestral Pathways, a magical multi-media performance led by Lucid DreamBike, an interactive Community Labyrinth led by local public artists Tape Art NZ, a Wild Arrivals Puppet Parade, street theatre, face painting, and delicios food, this will be a great party not to be missed.
