Red Cross Refugee Support Volunteer Training
Would you like to support a former refugee family from Myanmar or Colombia as they make a new life here in Nelson?  Learn their culture, make new friends, and make a difference. Minister for Women
You are invited to hear Julie Anne Genter, Minister for Women, speak about the benefits of diversity and gender balance on councils and boards. Everyone is welcome, especially women thinking of standing for council and supporters.
It will be a koha entry to cover expenses.
Where: Greenmeadows Centre, Stoke
Date: 9:30am Tuesday 2nd of July
2019 is election year for both councils and Nelson Tasman District Health Board. Nomination forms and candidate information will be available.

Down the Bay
Richmond Library are pleased to be bringing award winning author, Phillip Simpson, for a special talk on his new book Down the Bay which is about one of New Zealand’s most loved national parks, the Abel Tasman National Park.
Down The Bay presents a comprehensive picture of the distinctive landforms of Abel Tasman, from the granite headlands and golden-sand beaches of the coast to the deep caves of the uplands, the diversity of plants and animals, the marine environment, and the overlay of both Māori and European history.
Philip Simpson will be speaking at Richmond Library on Tuesday 2 July, 12.00pm-1.00pm. It is free to attend and everyone is welcome. Cash book sales will also be available.

Nelson Railway
The Nelson Railway at Founders Park will be open on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of June with the Railcar running between 11am and 4pm, weather permitting. Adults are $6 and Children are $4. Come on down and join them at the station.

Henry Ford's All Ford Birthday Event
Come down and celebrate with Ford for the birthday of Henry Ford. There'll be plenty of classic Ford's and new Ford's. The BBQ will be cranking with sausage sizzles available, coffee, raffles, and spot prizes! 
Come down to the Tahuna Beach Holiday Park on Sunday the 28th of July from 10am-2pm. It's a gold coin donation with all funds raised going to the Nelson Tasman Hospice.

Nelson and Motueka Live Poets
There will be two open mic nights where all are welcome to come read or recite original or others poetry of any style.
The two venues are :
Nelson: Tuesday 16th of July at The Prince Albert, 113 Nile Street.
Motueka: Wednesday 17th of July at Armadillos, 122 High Street.
Both events start at 7pm and will be a Koha on entry.

Nelson North Lions Club
If you have spare time and are wanting to be more involved in your community then the Nelson North Lions Club could be for you!
Nelson North Lions Club are welcoming new members to join their small established group that are passionate about providing voluntary services through community involvement.
