December 28th 9am-3pm

Shopping, fun, and entertainment for all the family at the biggest market in the top of the south!
Join the Richmond businesses as they bring their specials out onto the street, and the many market stallholders from all around the country as they line Queen Street. Balloon twisting, face painting, bouncy castle, stilt walkers, magicians and more to entertain.

Nelson’s central city New Year's Eve Countdown is a great place to dance your way into 2019! Come along with family and friends to the Church Steps at the top of Trafalgar Street, where live bands will lead the celebrating.

Higgins Heritage Park Steam Museum & Craft Fair

Higgins Heritage Park is in fact a "family" of museums and is the home to a large variety of exhibits and this year the event will include a Park Craft Fair, with Local Entertainers, Scrumptious food carts, Devonshire Teas at the Big Tree Café and a fantastic array of local and regional craft sites.

January 5th and 6th (9 - 5) Stoke Memorial Hall

Wander around and see how technology changed the motorcycle. Take a seat and watch road racing from the Isle of Man TT. And other circuits from around the world.
This event is becoming a regular feature of the Nelson holiday calendar, many people fitting it into their annual holiday.

Interislander Summer Festival of Racing

January 11th & 13th

Harness racing in Nelson is held over two days. It is one of the region's most popular events, with loads of fun for young, old and families alike! We have free children's entertainment, live music, Fashion in the Field, Losing Ticket Lucky Draw, Best Hat Day, local food and refreshments, competitions and the thrill of the horses.
