HEART MEDICATIONS

The Heart Foundation is running a free session to discuss heart medications at the Horowhenua Culture and Community Centre in Levin for people living with a heart condition and their families. Run by a local registered pharmacist, they will talk about the various groups of medications, what they do and common side effects. Whānau are encouraged to come along and learn more about your heart condition.

AROHANUI HOSPICE STREET APPEAL 20/21 MAY

Arohanui Hospice is holding their annual street appeal on 20th and 21st May. Volunteers will be out and about shaking the bucket within the community raising much needed funds for the hospice. Collectors will be in Dannevirke, Feilding, Foxton, Levin, Marton, Otaki, Pahiatua, Palmerston North, and Woodville. Please give generously if you see collectors out and about. PALMERSTON NORTH BIRD CLUB ANNUAL SHOW & SALE

The Palmerston North Bird Club Annual Show & Sale is back at the Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre on the 22nd of May from 1pm. The Annual Bird Show will display birds from throughout New Zealand including Canaries, Large Hookbeaks Small Finches and more will be on display. There will be a Sales Table where a wide variety of different birds will be available for purchase.

FREEDOM RUN FOR GUMBOOT FRIDAY

Shaun van Bunnik will be doing laps between He Ara Kotahi and the Fitzherbert Bridge for 24 hours in gumboots to raise money for Gumboot Friday on the 28th of May. Raising money for kids to access free counselling, as well as raising awareness for anxiety, depression and suicide. Join in with a lap or two, or do the whole 24 hours. Shaun will be starting 12pm lunchtime on Friday 28 May at He Ara Kotahi (Dittmer drive), going through to 12pm on Saturday. Bring your gumboots!

SHEARINGS CARING

Shearings Caring is holding a sausage sizzle at the Woodville Four Square on the 29th of May as a thank you to everyone for the support. There will also be a balloon raffle to raise money towards things needed for the business. For more details contact Bodene Hauraki on 02108116894
