The Queen has sassy response when offered a helping hand

Queen Elizabeth is certainly not slowing down anytime soon!

Queen Elizabeth has proved any doubters wrong as she insisted she is "perfectly capable" to still do her full commitments at royal engagements.

The monarch's comment comes after turning down an offer of help during a visit to Britain’s National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB), to celebrate the institute's 100th anniversary.

When she was tasked with planting a hornbeam tree, the institute's chief executive said she didn't actually have to plant it, just supervise the ceremony.

But when her Majesty approached the site, she reportedly turned down the offer of someone else doing it.

"No, no, I’m still perfectly capable of planting a tree," Queen Elizabeth said.

So she handed her black Launer handbag to her lady-in-waiting before she “seized the spade”, Tina Barsby, NIAB's chief executive added.

And so cameras flashed and the crown applauded after the Queen had scooped two small shovel loads of dirt into the plot.

Footage of the moment was shared online and royal fans cheered on the 93-year-old.

“I sure hope I’m as capable as the Queen when I’m 93,” one person tweeted.
