The 1992 film The Bodyguard would arguably be one of the biggest films to come out of the '90's.
While on its release it saw mixed reviews from critics, watchers on the film couldn't help but love the undeniable chemistry between Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, and the soundtrack went on to have the best-selling soundtrack of all time.
While we never got given a sequel to the film, recently Kevin Costner revealed there was once a proposed sequel that was set to star none other than the late Princess Diana.
According to the actor, the Princess of Wales was interested in playing a role "in the same kind of capacity as Whitney."
“The studio liked the idea of doing a Bodyguard 2 [with Princess Diana] in the same kind of capacity as Whitney,” Kevin shared with PeopleTV. “Nobody really knew that for about a year," he added.
“I just remember her being incredibly sweet on the phone when she asked the questions,” Kevin recalled.
“She goes, ‘Are we going to have like a kissing scene?’ But she said it in a very respectful — she was a little nervous because I think her life was very governed.”
Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be and the idea never came to fruition before it was too late.
If it did, however, it would have been Princess Diana's first acting role, and we can all imagine how the film would have gone bananas.
