Most couples have nicknames for one another and the royal couple was no exception.
According to a royal biographer, the late Prince Phillip had a rather bizarre nickname for his wife Queen Elizabeth. But the meaning behind it is really sweet.
Apparently, the Duke of Edinburgh used to call the Queen 'cabbage'. Some have speculated that it came from the French phrase 'mon petit chou', a French way of saying 'my darling'. It can also mean 'my little pastry puff'.
Robert Lacey, a royal biographer confirmed the nickname in an interview with The Sunday Times. He said, "Yes, I've heard that is how he will sometimes refer to her".
