Princess Diana and Duchess Sarah Ferguson's hilarious story of getting arrested after hen party

"It was extraordinary"

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York revealed that Princess Diana and her got arrested on the night of Duchess Sarah's hen party on the Kelly Clarkson show.

In 1986, Princess Diana and Duchess Sarah Ferguson dressed up as police officers for Duchess' hen party.

After the party, they went to a nightclub where things quickly escalated.

"It was extraordinary, because we went to a nightclub" Duchess Sarah told Kelly.

"So we sat down and the waiter came up to us and said, 'Excuse me, this is a member's club and it's for fun. And we don't serve police officers here'. Looking straight at us".

After being mistaken for real cops, they were kicked out of the club.

"As we came out, up the stairs, a lady was getting out of a cab and Diana said, 'She's got my dress on' I said 'Dutch, no you can't say that. We're meant to be police officers'.

Just after Kelly and Sarah talk about Princess Diana breaking her character as a police officer, the Duchess drops a bomb saying they got arrested for impersonating police officers.

"We were arrested by Parks police. So we got in the back of the van. And she had put her engagement ring around the other way. And I'd put mine around the other way. And we were sitting in there like this and she just looked around and saw a smokey bacon-flavoured crisp and started taking them and eating them."

"And the policeman in the front said, "You can't do that!"

They were released right after the police discovered their real identities.

"And then eventually they realized that it was Diana and me. It's so funny," Duchess said.

"Oh my god! People are allowed to be in costume" Kelly remarks.

To which Sarah agrees and says, "Hello?"
