Tourism New Zealand has released a list of the country's most Instagrammed locations, featuring a variety of landscapes and activities.
Auckland claimed three of the top 10 positions, with Takapuna, Queen St and the Sky Tower making the cut.
Andrew Fraser, the director of Marketing Tourism New Zealand, said it was fantastic that people are using the app to share their Kiwi experience. "The photography skills of visitors and New Zealanders on Instagram are quite remarkable, although they do have some pretty good landscapes to work with," Mr Fraser said.
This year's most Instrgrammed NZ locations:
Queen Street, Auckland
Takapuna Beach, Auckland
Milford Sound, South West
Hobbiton Movie Set, Matamata
Abel Tasman National Park
Mount Maunganui, Tauranga
I wish I could fly - part2. Today we walked almost 12 miles through the whole white sand beach down there and up to the summit of Mount Maunganui and around it. Paragliding down would have been easier then :) #beyondtheroad #newzealand #mountmaunganui #tauranga #whitesandbeach #islands #trail #trekking #backpacker #explore #enjoy #live #love #life
Franz Josef Glacier, South Island
All of the exposed rock you see here was once hidden under the Franz Josef glacier. Documented over the past 200 years, the glacier has been on a slow but steady retreat that has sadly rapidly advanced since 2012. Signs placed at intervals along the thirty minute walk up through the glacial bed show just how dramatic the change has been. For me it was a shocking example of global warming in action, and a scary reminder of how much we have impacted our fragile world.
Lake Wanaka, Otago
Tourism New Zealand also put out a list of the most used hashtags nationwide. "#NewZealand" took out the top spot, attached to nearly 7,000,000 posts.
