Prince William opens his heart to teen boy who lost his mother
Prince William recently bonded with a 14-year-old boy who lost his mother last year and shared his advice to dealing with the loss of a parent.
“I know how you feel,” the Duke of Cambridge confessed, recalling his own devastation. “I miss my mother every day. It’s OK to feel sad.”
William is an advocate for mental health and draws on his own experience to console others, including the boy and his four brothers.
The Prince explained the best way to deal with bereavement is talk about it with one another. He also made them promise that they would do so before he left.
“Time makes it easier… I still miss my mother every day and it’s 20 years after she died. The important thing is to talk about it as a family… it’s OK for you to miss her.”
