This year The Breeze is celebrating Matariki kī Pōneke 2018 alongside Wellington City Council with many unique, extraordinary experiences. Matariki is a time of celebration when people gather to share food, rituals, entertainment, hospitality and knowledge.

Wellington's waterfront will host an incredible event for the whole whanau, there's something for everyone!

There will be poi workshops, a light parade and fire in the sky, on land and on water. Toast marshmallows with the tamariki, see some of our best maori performers & hear our people tell their stories!
All happening at Whairepo Lagoon, Odlins Plaza and Te Papa promenade.

Saturday 7 July, 6.30pm (Postponement Date Saturday 8 July 6.30pm)
Our spectacular Matariki finale- see Wellington harbour light up with the country’s largest annual fireworks display.
