Summer Savers - Liver
Summer is traditionally the party season so our livers are undoubtedly going to get a bit overloaded!
With the extra alcohol, extra food and extra partying, our bodies have to cope with a lot of extra toxins that can put the liver under increased stress and strain. This can leave you feeling sluggish, tired and bloated. However, there are some easy ways to help support your body during the party season so that the toxic overload isn’t so bad!
• Keep drinking water: if you can stick to 8 glasses a day minimum, especially during the hotter months, this will help your body stay hydrated and will help the liver flush toxins from the body.
• Lemon and Hot Water: starting your day with a glass of hot water and lemon juice provides an excellent cleanser for your digestive system and your liver. You will see the difference in your skin!
• Fruit and Vegetables: luckily, it is easy to include lots of these in our diets during summer so make sure that you include a good variety to get all the necessary vitamins and minerals.

Milk Thistle: this is a fantastic herb which supports detox and liver functions so it is great for the weeks after the party season as well as the time during. You can get it from your local health store.
