Several reports claim Ferrari had sent its engineers to investigate what the company labelled as "thermal incidents" , and then proceeded to ask the owners of more than 1200 examples of the supercar to bring their vehicles into their local workshop to have the problem fixed.
RS: Hey everyone, trust you had a good week !
Highlight for me, had to be seeing the new show The X Factor – to be honest I was a little sceptical about it – it just looked like another series of Idol. But there’s something quite special about it – I am hooked. To check out some recent performances go to: http://au.tv.yahoo.com/x-factor/
Also during the week we learnt this : Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) statistics today showed more than 24,000 people injured themselves using tools at home last year while the lawnmower injury figures averaged out at just over 12 a day.
Men were 60 percent more likely to suffer a fatal injury than women.
The figures showed that there was a home injury every 56 seconds, although there was a drop in injuries from 658,103 in 2008 to 632,920 last year.
One in every eight tool injuries involved a power tool.
The laundry, bathroom and kitchen were the most dangerous place for women while the kitchen was the most dangerous room overall in New Zealand homes - about 130 injuries happened there every day.
People needed to make simple changes to avoid injury, like use non-slip bath mats, make sure glass doors were visible and windows that children could reach were latched and prevent power cords from becoming hazards, ACC advised. """
At least now I have an excuse not to mow the lawns this weekend !
Saw a very familiar sight on my travels – some boys from Grammar doing PE, jogging around the streets.....they were divided into categories:
The fit ones up the front
The average ones following
The slow and larger ones walking
And the poor kid at the back who had forgotten his trainers and was running in his socks...
Reminds me of school, we used to have to run so bloody far – that we’d be late for the next period...had to job ½ of Palmerston North ! – THOSE were the days !
Also in the news this week :
A truck believed to be carrying a cargo of live bees was involved in a crash in North Canterbury this morning.
Emergency services and a rescue helicopter were dispatched to the site of the crash, near Horseford Downs Rd in Ashley Forest just after 11am.
A truck, believed to be carrying a shipment of live bees, had left the road.
TV3 reported that the vehicle belonged to a beekeeper, and that the crash had unleashed swarms of angry bees.
Two people suffered moderate injuries as a result.
The ambulance and rescue helicopter are still on scene.
No other information was available.
Now if the truck this a milk tanker – I could have something to work with here....but no.
So I am part of a carpool to take some 9 year old girls to netball – usually the night before the game we receive an email from the organisers telling us where and when the game is. Up to late Sunday there was no such email...Upon browsing my ‘sent’ folder, I discovered that my 9 year old had taken matter into her own hands :
dear bridget
There has bean no emails about netball no worrys if late results about court and time so if can can you please email them in soon.from robirt
At first she tried to deny sending it – then after a little pressure finally admitted it...scallywag !
Having said that my spelling is not flash – maybe she was just impersonating me ...
That’s my lot – stay safe
