Movie Reviews & Pick of The Flicks

After the successes of The Office and Extras Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant return as writer and director team of this 1970s comedy-drama.
Set in Reading, England, Freddie is eager to leave his small town, working class roots and make his way in the world. His two best friends Bruce and Snork prefer the status quo and find Freddie’s ambitions interfere with their trouble making routines.
Finding a door-to-door insurance salesman job Freddie thinks this as a way to make his way in the world. Looking to his new boss Mr Kendrick (Ralph Fiennes), Freddie sees the type of person he wishes to be, and a re-introduction of childhood friend Julie fuels Freddie’s quest for success.

Pick of the Flicks For Family these School Holidays
Stuck on where to go and what to see these holidays? Here are my best movie picks...
The Karate Kid – Opens July 8th.
While many say remakes aren’t as good as originals, the 2010 version of The Karate Kid is a great re-make of 1984s must-see movie.
Will Smith’s son Jaden plays Dre, a 12 year old up-rooted from Detroit by his mothers job. Finding himself at a new school in China and dealing with a new set of bullies, on a playground ruled by kung fu. Jackie Chan steps up as the modern day ‘Mr Miyagi’ - Mr Han, a kung fu skilled school maintenance man.
For those who are fans of the original, we definitely recommend seeing this re-make.
For the family – a great film with something for everyone.
